Plot Summary

Maharaja, a quiet barber in Chennai, loses his wife in a tragic accident when a truck crashes into their home, but his daughter, Jothi, survives, shielded by a dustbin they affectionately name "Lakshmi." One day, Maharaja reports Lakshmi’s theft to the police, claiming a gang robbed his house. The police, intrigued by the bizarre claim, involve an informant named Nallasivam to help. A flashback reveals that the gang’s actual target was Jothi, who was brutally assaulted by Selvam, Dhana, and Nallasivam. Maharaja discovers the truth, kills Dhana, and tricks the police into bringing Nallasivam to his home, where he exacts revenge. Maharaja then confronts Selvam at a construction site. It is revealed that Jothi is Selvam’s long-lost daughter, Ammu, whom Maharaja had adopted after her mother’s death. Realizing he had unwittingly harmed his own daughter, Selvam commits suicide out of guilt. The story concludes with Maharaja and Jothi, accompanied by her teacher Aasifa, leaving the scene, having completed their quest for justice.
